Delete your CareerScope account

You can permanently delete your CareerScope account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains every path and what gets removed.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

  1. Open the CareerScope iOS app while signed in.
  2. Go to Settings (or Profile → Settings).
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the deletion prompt.

This is the fastest path for alpha testers and will be the primary in-app control required for App Store compliance.

Option 2 — Delete by email

  1. Email support@yourcareerscope.com from the same address associated with your account.
  2. Use the subject line: Delete my CareerScope account.
  3. Include any helpful identifiers (account email, Apple private relay email if used, approximate signup date).

We will verify the request and confirm when deletion has been completed.

What we delete

  • Account & authentication records tied to your user ID (email/password or Apple Sign In linkage in our systems).
  • Résumé files and extracted résumé text stored for your account.
  • Profile information (skills, preferences, location preferences you saved).
  • Questionnaire / personality answers.
  • Saved jobs, swipe history, and similar activity records.
  • AI-generated cover letter history associated with your account, if you used Beta cover-letter tools after they become available.

AI data deletion

CareerScope uses processors such as OpenAI to generate analyses and drafts when you use those features. We delete CareerScope-stored inputs/outputs linked to your account on the timeline below. Provider-side transient processing is governed by our agreements with those processors; we do not retain a separate “AI shadow profile” for advertising.

Deletion timeline

After you confirm deletion (in-app or via verified email), we complete deletion or irreversible de-identification of personal account data within 30 days. Security logs or legally required records may persist longer in limited form, as described in our Privacy Policy.

After deletion

You will lose access to saved jobs and generated content. If you sign up again later, you start fresh—prior alpha data is not restored.
